My daughter found biology really difficult and was considering dropping it. Her Daresne tutor was so good at explaining the underlying biology - not just what to memorise but why things work the way they do. She went from H5s to H1s in her assessments. She is now seriously considering medicine as a career. Total transformation.

Daughter was retelling stories in essays rather than analysing them. Very common problem apparently. Tutor was excellent at teaching how to structure analysis properly. School marked work has improved from Cs to As. Really happy.

GCSE English and history with Daresne. Two months in she came to me and asked whether she could have more sessions before her mocks. In three years of various tutoring she has never done that. Both grades have gone up. Something about the way both tutors run things makes her feel it is worth her time rather than an obligation.

My daughter is doing A level Mandarin Chinese. Her tutor has a Chinese studies degree and is a native speaker. The sessions have been excellent - very rigorous but also enjoyable. My daughter's writing in Chinese has improved significantly and she is now confident about the final exam. Really pleased with how it has gone.
Good. My son has improved in Leaving Cert biology and likes his tutor. One note is that we waited about ten days from signing up to having our first session which felt like a long time. Would still recommend but worth knowing.
