My son sat his A level maths papers this week. He thinks they went well. What has changed over the last year is not just the grades but his actual relationship with the subject. He has asked to add further maths next year. I would not have thought that was possible when we started Daresne. His tutor made him genuinely interested in maths as something more than just an exam. Twelve sessions a month throughout year 13.
Exactly what we needed at exactly the right time. Daughter was really struggling and the tutor steadied things. Very grateful.
The unseen poetry question is the one my daughter has dreaded all year. She came out of her Leaving Cert English paper saying she actually liked the poem they gave her and found she had things to say about it. Her tutor had drilled unseen analysis specifically and given her a way of reading a new poem that gave her things to write even when she had never seen it before.
Very pleased. Daughter has been with Daresne for four months now doing eight sessions a month. Junior Cert Irish is coming on well and she is much more confident. Would recommend.
My son sat his GCSE physics paper on Monday. He said the questions were in the format he expected and he knew what each one wanted even when the context was new. His tutor had been really good at teaching the underlying physics rather than just past paper answers. He said going into the exam it felt like doing another practice paper.

Her tutor completely changed how she revises not just what she revises. Timed questions, marks her own work, goes back to anything she got wrong.
