Happy out. Son is doing much better in Leaving Cert maths and likes his tutor a lot.
My son had Daresne tutors for Junior Cert geography and history. Both tutors were excellent. Geography from nearly failing to passing comfortably. History from H5 level to near the top. The tutors clearly know the Irish curriculum well and focused on exactly what the exam rewards.
My daughter was struggling on the maths section of 11+ practice papers. Her Daresne tutor focused on the specific question types she was consistently getting wrong. Within three months she went from the bottom quartile to comfortably in the passing range. She passed the 11+ and starts at her grammar school in September. Eight sessions a month for seven months.
Exactly what I hoped for. Daughter was nervous about online lessons but settled in quickly. Maths grades are up. Eight sessions a month.
Five stars. My son loves his sessions and has gone from predicted H5 to H2 in Leaving Cert maths. His tutor is fantastic.
My son said unprompted that his Daresne tutor was the best tutor he had ever had. He has had a few over the years. That is all I needed to hear really. Leaving Cert chemistry is finally going in the right direction.

Daughter chose psychology partly because she thought it would be easier than science A levels. It was not. The research methods and statistics elements were really difficult. Her tutor spent several sessions just on those components and they now make sense to her. Predicted a B up from a D.
