Proper improvement, not just a short term boost. My daughter has been with Daresne for eight months and the improvement in her Leaving Cert biology is real and consistent. She understands the material rather than just memorising it which is what I was hoping for.
A teacher told him quite casually he was not a maths person. He believed it and stopped trying. His Daresne tutor Tom just worked with him as though he was capable. No big speech about it, just quiet expectation and patience. Three months later he is predicted a 7 from a 3. That one teacher comment did a lot of damage. Tom undid it.

My son told his Daresne tutor in the very first session that he was bad at maths. She apparently said something like - let us find out about that together. Seven months on eight sessions a month and he is predicted an 8. He no longer says he is bad at maths. That is the thing I am most grateful for.
