My son found the Irish oral component of Junior Cert really daunting. His Daresne tutor did practice oral sessions every week - structured conversations, prepared topics, handling unexpected questions. He went into the actual oral far calmer than any of his mock attempts. He passed. The preparation made all the difference.

Son was really struggling with the data skills and mathematical elements of GCSE geography. Tutor has been really good at making statistical techniques feel less scary. He has also got much better at the longer essay questions. Target grade was a 6 and he is now predicted a 7.
My daughter is doing Advanced Higher biology which is an extremely demanding qualification. Finding a tutor comfortable at that level was the main worry. Daresne found someone with a biology research background who knows the Advanced Higher specification and is brilliant at it. My daughter is on track for an A.

My daughter was weak on both the oral and written components of Leaving Cert Spanish. Her tutor worked on both simultaneously - structured oral practice and written composition in each session. Both have improved significantly. She is now confident about both components.
My daughter was failing Leaving Cert French at the start of sixth year. Her tutor focused on the writing and oral components where she was losing the most marks. Within four months she was passing comfortably and is now predicted an H2. The tutor was warm and patient and my daughter was never made to feel behind.
