Son failed GCSE maths first time and needed it for his apprenticeship application. Found Daresne for the resit. My daughter was terrified of the GCSE Spanish speaking component. Would freeze up completely in practice. Her tutor just kept drilling it in every session until it felt routine. She sat the actual speaking exam and came out saying it felt fine. Predicted an 8.
Italian GCSE is not commonly supported and her school has limited resources for it. Her Daresne tutor focused entirely on the exam components that were dragging her down — written and reading comprehension. She went from a 4 to a predicted 7 over about six months. The grade jump speaks for itself.

Daughter had real maths anxiety. Would get upset before school on maths test days and was convinced she was just bad at maths. Tutor was very patient and focused on rebuilding confidence before pushing on content. She now approaches maths with much more calm. Grades have improved too.
Daughter speaks Arabic at home but her GCSE was suffering because conversational Arabic and exam Arabic are completely different things. Her tutor understood this immediately and focused purely on what the mark scheme rewards. She went from a 5 to a predicted 9. Still a bit surprised by that.
Son has ADHD and finds it hard to focus for long periods. Tutor was made aware and completely adapted her approach. Sessions are more dynamic with varied activity and shorter focused bursts. His progress has been remarkable and school is noticing the improvement too. Impressed with the quality.

Son has dyslexia and has always found English very difficult. Tutor used approaches that work better for dyslexic learners. He has made more progress in the last six months than in the previous two years. His confidence has also improved a lot which is probably the most important thing.
