I nearly pulled her out of school. I am so glad I found this first. My daughter was falling apart. Maths was destroying her self worth. She is a bright kid but her school just kept moving on without her. By Year 10 she was in tears most mornings and telling me she was stupid. I did not know what to do. A friend mentioned Daresne so I just tried it. Her tutor James spent the first two sessions not even doing maths really, just talking to her about how she thinks and where things stopped making sense. Something shifted. Within about 6 weeks she started coming downstairs in the mornings without that look on her face. She is predicted a 7 now. But honestly I do not care that much about the grade. I just have my daughter back.

His school wrote him off. He got into his first choice university. My son was predicted a U in A level maths. His sixth form basically stopped investing in him. I could see it happening and it was awful to watch. We found Daresne and he was matched with a tutor called Marcus who had taught A level maths for years and just got him. Within 3 months his teacher had revised the prediction to a C. He sat the exam and got a B. He got into his first choice. I cried reading that email. I genuinely did not think we were going to get there.

We wasted money on two tutors before this. Daresne was different from the first session. We had tried two other tutoring platforms. The first tutor kept cancelling. The second just read from a textbook and our daughter sat there nodding along understanding nothing. I was frustrated and nearly gave up on the whole idea. Then we tried Daresne. The tutor they matched her with, Niamh, figured out in the first session exactly how she processes information. It was a completely different experience. Her Higher English went from a C to an A over about 4 months. I genuinely wish we had found them first.

Got a 2 in his November mock. Got a 6 in the actual GCSE. After his mock the school sat us down and basically managed our expectations down. They were kind about it but the message was clear. We found Daresne anyway and his tutor, a guy called Daniel, spent the first few sessions just mapping where the gaps had built up from Year 7 onwards. He was not trying to cram, he was actually fixing things. My son sat his GCSE in June and got a 6. His maths teacher emailed me to ask what we had done differently. I told her.

11 plus nearly broke our whole family. He got into his first choice grammar. The 11 plus preparation was the most stressful period we have been through as a family. My son started having stomach aches before practice papers. His tutor Sophie did not just work on the content, she spent real time on timed conditions and keeping calm when he hit something hard. That was his biggest weakness. He passed and got his first choice. The relief in that house when the letter arrived was something else.

Was going to drop chemistry. Now putting it on her UCAS. She had checked out of A level chemistry completely. Her school teacher is fine but the way he explains organic chemistry just did not land with her. She came to us and said she wanted to drop it. We asked her to try one month with Daresne first. Her tutor Ravi approached the whole topic differently and something clicked almost immediately. She went from Es to Bs. She is now applying for chemistry at university. I still find that hard to believe.

My son has dyslexia. We needed someone who actually understood that. Finding a tutor who could genuinely work with dyslexia rather than just ignore it was the whole challenge. Most tutors we spoke to said they had experience but you could tell within minutes they did not really adapt. Daresne matched him with someone called Anna who had worked specifically with dyslexic students for years. She changed everything about how she presented information for him. His predicted GCSE English grade went from a 3 to a 6. Cannot recommend enough.

Her sixth form told us not to apply for medicine. She got AAA. Her sixth form pastoral tutor sat us down in Year 12 and very gently told us medicine was not realistic for her. We did not fully accept that. We found Daresne tutors for chemistry and biology. She worked incredibly hard alongside that support. She got AAA in her A levels. She is now in her first year of medicine. I think about that meeting at school sometimes. I am glad we ignored it.

Predicted 5s across the board. Came home with four 8s and a 9. We used Daresne for maths, English and sciences over about a year. Her school predictions were all 5s and nobody at the school seemed particularly bothered about changing that. On results day she got a 9 in maths, three 8s and a 7 in English. Her form tutor rang me personally. He had never seen a jump like that across so many subjects. Worth every penny.

Mock results were a disaster. Leaving Cert came back at 625 points. His Christmas mock results in maths and chemistry were genuinely bad and we were frightened about the Leaving Cert. We found Daresne tutors for both subjects. His maths tutor Cian and his chemistry tutor worked with him over about 5 months building things up properly rather than just doing past papers. He got an H2 in maths and an H1 in chemistry. Total points came to 625. He got into medicine at UCD. I cannot put into words what that meant for our family.

Primary maths, son is now one of the strongest in his class

Started with Daresne for son in Year 5 who was falling behind in maths. Within a term he had caught up. By the end of Year 5 he was actually one of the stronger students in his class. Tutor was really good at keeping sessions fun. Good option for primary support.

Year 4 English, reading comprehension has really improved

Daughter was struggling with reading comprehension in Year 4 and falling behind her class. Her tutor made sessions feel more like reading together than a lesson which helped her relax into it.
