Just got my A level results and I got an A in chemistry which I honestly did not think was possible six months ago. Was predicted a C. My Daresne tutor completely changed how I understood the subject. She was incredibly patient and we went over things as many times as I needed. The difference that tutor made is hard to overstate.
My daughter has ADHD and finds long study sessions really difficult. Her tutor structures sessions differently - shorter focused bursts with frequent changes of activity. Daughter got a 7 in maths and a 6 in English which were the grades she needed for her sixth form place. Started Daresne in January and had about 3 sessions a fortnight across both subjects. Good value for what we got. Would definitely use again for A levels.
D in economics at the start of year 13. University offer very shaky. Eight months with Daresne - his tutor uses current economic news constantly, refuses to just teach from the textbook - and he is now predicted an A. He started following economic news on his own. The interest in the subject came first and the grades followed. That is the right order.
