Delighted with how it has gone. Son went from H5 to H2 in Leaving Cert maths. His tutor was patient and knew exactly what the exam required.
Good. My son has improved in Junior Cert maths and his tutor is reliable. Four stars only because one session was cancelled last minute. All fine since though.
Son understood the historical content well but kept dropping marks on source analysis questions. His tutor worked out quickly that he was describing sources rather than analysing them. Six weeks of focused work on that one skill and his mark on source questions went up by about 12 marks. Predicted a 7 now.
My son was really struggling with A level chemistry and had basically stopped trying. His tutor went right back to the core concepts without any judgement about the gaps in his knowledge. That approach worked brilliantly for him - he needed to feel like he could do it before he could. Predicted a B now from a near-fail. Really excellent tutor.
Not quite five stars but close. My daughter has improved in GCSE English and likes her tutor. One session in the first month had to be moved twice due to the tutor's schedule. Not ideal but sorted in the end and it has been consistent since. The teaching quality has been genuinely good.
My daughter sat the 11+ for three schools and was offered places at all three. We started Daresne nine months before the test. Her tutor was brilliant at building her up for verbal and non-verbal reasoning, which had been her weaker areas. She went into the tests feeling genuinely prepared. We are absolutely delighted.
Highly recommend. My daughter loves her sessions with Daresne and Junior Cert Irish has come on brilliantly.
My son was getting H5s in Leaving Cert economics in fifth year. His Daresne tutor used a lot of real-world examples - Irish budget, ECB rates, housing market - and made the theory feel connected to something real. He went from H5 to H1 in his school assessments. That is a bigger improvement than I thought was possible.
