Daughter speaks Arabic at home but her GCSE was suffering because conversational Arabic and exam Arabic are completely different things. Her tutor understood this immediately and focused purely on what the mark scheme rewards. She went from a 5 to a predicted 9. Still a bit surprised by that.
My daughter needed an A in chemistry to keep her Oxford offer. At Christmas she was getting Bs and we were worried. Her Daresne tutor worked with her intensively on the topics she was losing marks on. She got her A. She starts at Oxford in October. I cannot express what that means.
