My son was one of the weakest students in his GCSE maths set. His teacher had suggested considering foundation tier. We started Daresne instead. His tutor was brilliant - calm, systematic, never made him feel stupid. He is now one of the stronger students in the higher tier set and predicted a 7. His teacher was visibly surprised. Eight sessions a month for about nine months.
Chemistry was my daughter's least favourite subject by a long way. After about six sessions with her Daresne tutor she came home and started explaining something about reaction rates at dinner, completely unprompted. Her grade has gone from a D to a predicted B. The engagement change came first and the grades followed.
My son kept losing marks on economics diagrams - supply and demand shifts, price mechanisms. His tutor spent three sessions purely on drawing and interpreting diagrams under exam conditions. He stopped dropping marks on those questions entirely. Grade went from a 4 to a 7. Small area of focus, big effect.
Very pleased. My son loves his sessions and Leaving Cert biology has improved enormously.

Happy with everything. Sessions have been regular, the tutor is reliable, and my son is improving. Leaving Cert physics is in a much better place than it was six months ago. Would recommend.
