My daughter was struggling with the Italian A level literature and film components. Her tutor has genuine enthusiasm for Italian literature and the sessions became something she actually looked forward to. Her literature marks have improved significantly and she is predicted an A.
Very very good. My son did not want a tutor and now he asks me when his next session is. GCSE biology has turned completely around. His tutor is brilliant with teenage boys which apparently is not that easy.
My son started GCSE physics sessions with Daresne last March with a grade 3. He just could not understand the concepts. His tutor was brilliant at visual explanations and connecting abstract physics to things he could see in the real world. He is predicted an 8 for the summer exam. I struggle to explain how that happened but I am very glad it did.
Cannot fault it. Sessions are regular, tutor is reliable, son is improving. Exactly what I wanted.
My daughter was weak on both the oral and written components of Leaving Cert French. Her tutor worked on both simultaneously - structured oral practice in one part of each session and written composition work in the other. Both have improved significantly. She is now confident and is no longer dreading the oral exam the way she was.
Failed it twice. Third time we tried Daresne. His tutor - I think her name was Priya - was patient and kind and very methodical. He passed with a 4. He can do the apprenticeship he has wanted for three years. I cried when he rang me with the result. That is the whole review.
My daughter was consistently failing her Junior Cert maths assessments at school. We started Daresne in September and by January she was well above the pass mark. The tutor is patient and knows the Irish curriculum thoroughly. My daughter no longer dreads maths which is the biggest change of all.
Five stars. My daughter has improved enormously in Leaving Cert biology. Very happy with Daresne.
