Very similar to what I imagine heritage speakers face in other languages. Three months later he is predicted a 9. The focus on exam-specific language made all the difference.
Lovely tutor. My son clicked with him straightaway and Junior Cert maths is going in the right direction. Eight sessions a month. Very happy.
My daughter used Daresne for two years across A level biology and chemistry. In year one she was struggling badly. By the end of year two she had the grades for her first choice university course. My son was really struggling with applying physics concepts to exam questions even when he understood the theory. His tutor focused heavily on worked examples and exam technique. Six months later he went from H5s to H2s in his school assessments. The tutor knows the Leaving Cert specification very well and that targeted approach made a big difference.
