My daughter found English genuinely unpleasant before Daresne. Her tutor introduced her to texts that were actually interesting to her and used them to teach the analytical skills the GCSE requires. Within a few months she was reading for pleasure on her own for the first time. Her grade went from a 4 to a 7. The love of reading was the bonus I did not expect.
The tutoring quality has been really good for my son in Leaving Cert maths. He has gone from H5 to H2 predicted. My only observation is that response times from the team when we messaged about a query were a bit slow on one occasion - took about 48 hours. Not a big issue and it only happened once, but worth mentioning. Teaching quality is excellent.
Exactly what it promises. Went from a 4 to a predicted 7 in GCSE maths. Online format works perfectly well. Would recommend.
My daughter is doing A level statistics which is a less common choice and finding good support was harder than I expected. Daresne found someone with a statistics degree who knows the specification in depth. Sessions have been excellent and her understanding of probability and hypothesis testing has transformed. Predicted an A.
Five stars. My son loves his sessions and his A level physics has improved dramatically. His tutor is brilliant.
After how well GCSE tutoring had gone with Daresne we booked A level maths sessions before he even started sixth form. Having that support in place from the very first week of A levels has made a significant difference. He has never fallen behind. His teachers say he is one of the most well prepared in the group. Eight sessions a month and now in his second year with the same tutor.
My three children have all used Daresne at different points. Eldest for A level sciences, middle for Junior Cert, youngest now for 11+ prep in Northern Ireland. The quality has been consistently excellent across all three and across very different subjects and qualifications. It is the first tutoring service I have actually trusted fully.
My son found the triple science GCSE overwhelming. He was getting 4s and 5s and dreading every lesson. His Daresne tutors made each subject feel much more manageable. He ended up choosing biology and chemistry as A level options. I would not have predicted that in Year 10. The tutors genuinely made him interested in science.
