Son chose GCSE Latin but was finding the grammar very difficult. Tutor is genuinely passionate about Latin and classics and has made it come alive for him. He now says Latin is his favourite subject. His marks went from Ds to Bs. Quite remarkable.
Daughter got into her grammar school. Daresne was a big part of that.
Son doing IB maths and finding a tutor who knows the IB specification rather than just A level maths was the challenge. Daresne found someone very familiar with the IB curriculum and teaching style. His IA has improved a lot and exam preparation is strong.
Son took on GCSE Ancient Greek as an extra subject and was finding the grammar extremely challenging. Tutor has a classics degree and is genuinely passionate about the subject. Son now loves ancient Greek and marks went from Ds to As. Really exceptional tutor.
Son could speak French reasonably well but his written French was very poor. His tutor worked specifically on the writing tasks and how to structure them for the mark scheme. Three months later his predicted grade on the writing component has gone from a 3 to a 7.
Started GCSE maths preparation early in Year 9. At the time some people said it was too early but it has paid off enormously. Son is now in Year 11 sitting GCSE maths a year early and expected to get a strong grade. Daresne tutor has been consistent and really good throughout.
Was concerned Daresne would not have tutors familiar with the CCEA examining board used in Northern Ireland. Was wrong. Tutor they found for daughter has excellent knowledge of the CCEA specification and past paper style. Her progress has been brilliant. Recommend to other parents in Northern Ireland.
Children educated through Gaelic medium and finding subject tutors who can work in Gaelic is extremely challenging. Daresne found a maths tutor comfortable working in Gaelic who knows the Scottish curriculum. This was genuinely something we thought was impossible to find online. Delighted.
