Only four sessions in so still early days but my son seems to get on well with his tutor and has been doing his maths homework without being asked which is new. Will update if anything changes but positive so far.
Highly recommend. The tutor was matched perfectly to my daughter and Leaving Cert biology has come on really well. Very happy.
Signed up after daughters Year 10 French assessment came back really poorly and teacher said speaking needed serious work. Improvement has been massive. She has a predicted 7 and is actually comfortable speaking now which was not the case before. Tutor does a lot of roleplay practice which felt awkward at first but clearly works.
My son was finding Leaving Cert geography difficult to apply to exam questions even though he knew the material. His Daresne tutor focused on structuring exam answers and using case studies effectively. He went from H5s to H2s in about five months. The tutor was familiar with the Irish curriculum which made a real difference.
Genuinely impressed. GCSE chemistry was a disaster before Daresne. His tutor has sorted it out completley. Predicted 7 now.

Son could talk about books fine but written answers were all over the place. Tutor has been good at getting him to structure arguments and use quotes properly. He is not a natural writer so progress has been gradual but real. Would give 5 stars but we had to change tutors once early on which was disruptive. Got sorted but worth mentioning.
My daughter knew the texts inside out but her essay writing was too descriptive and not analytical enough. Her Daresne tutor worked specifically on argumentation and how to integrate quotations as evidence rather than decoration. The shift in her writing was visible within about six weeks. She is now predicted an A.
