My mum always does these so I wanted to write it myself because student reviews are probably more useful. Doing A level biology and chemistry. My tutor is really good, she doesnt just read stuff at you she actually explains why things work which makes it stick. I used to find biology boring and now its my favourite subject. Bit mad really. Worth it.

Non-verbal reasoning was holding my son back on practice papers. He just could not see the patterns quickly enough. His tutor spent the first month almost entirely on this. Slow and methodical. By month three his non-verbal scores were the strongest part of his paper. He passed the 11+. Could not be more pleased with the result.
Very good indeed. My daughter loves her sessions with Sophie and Leaving Cert French has come on brilliantly. No hesitation recommending.

My son was finding GCSE geography too abstract. His tutor kept linking topics to real events in the news - climate, flooding, urbanisation. He started reading the news on his own after a few weeks which I had not expected at all. Predicted grade up from a 4 to a 7.
Started GCSE maths preparation early in Year 9. At the time some people said it was too early but it has paid off enormously. Son is now in Year 11 sitting GCSE maths a year early and expected to get a strong grade. Daresne tutor has been consistent and really good throughout.
Average so far. My son has only had six sessions so it is early days. The tutor is fine and he gets on with him but I havent seen the big improvement yet that some of these reviews talk about. Will update in a couple of months.
