My daughter was getting H5s and H6s at the start of sixth year and was not confident at all in maths. Her tutor was very calm and methodical and rebuilt her confidence before anything else. She is now predicted an H2 and has stopped dreading maths class. That shift in attitude has been as important as the grade improvement.
A friend recommended Daresne and I am glad I listened. My daughter got on well with her tutor from the start and A level chemistry is going well. Still a few months until exams but feeling confident.

Children educated through Gaelic medium and finding subject tutors who can work in Gaelic is extremely challenging. Daresne found a maths tutor comfortable working in Gaelic who knows the Scottish curriculum. This was genuinely something we thought was impossible to find online. Delighted.

School taught Spanish mechanically. All past papers, no culture, no real language. Her Daresne tutor treated it as an actual living language and the exam preparation happened within that. Her enjoyment of it changed completely. She is predicted an A and is now considering Spanish as a joint degree. Not something I was expecting to say. Twelve sessions a month for just over a year.
