Son was really struggling with the programming elements of GCSE computer science. Tutor made Python make sense to him which was what we needed. He now actually enjoys coding. His teacher at school said his programming work has improved significantly. Positive experience overall.
Came to Daresne after daughter got a D in her first biology mock. Tutor completely changed how she approaches the subject. Instead of memorising facts she now understands the processes. She got an A in her most recent mock and is predicted an A star for the finals.

Son was getting Cs in GCSE English and could not understand why because he read a lot. His tutor explained that reading widely does not automatically translate into exam technique. Spent several sessions on how to answer specific question types in the paper. Within six weeks he was getting As on his assessments. It was purely about knowing how to use what he knew.

Started with Daresne for son in Year 5 who was falling behind in maths. Within a term he had caught up. By the end of Year 5 he was actually one of the stronger students in his class. Tutor was really good at keeping sessions fun. Good option for primary support.
School taught Spanish mechanically. All past papers, no culture, no real language. Her Daresne tutor treated it as an actual living language and the exam preparation happened within that. Her enjoyment of it changed completely. She is predicted an A and is now considering Spanish as a joint degree. Not something I was expecting to say.
He came home smiling after his first session. I did not even know what to say. That is never happened after tuition before. GCSE physics had been a nightmare for months. It is early days but feeling very positive about Daresne.
